Player Ratings: England Triumph Secured by Harry Kane's Brace in International Qualifying Match

In a dominant showing, the English national team clinched one more win versus their opponents, featuring several squad members turning in memorable performances throughout the game.

First-choice Lineup

Dean Henderson Had little to do to perform before the break until forced to intervene from Arbër Hoxha’s bent shot. A sliding tackle on Qazim Laci highlighted his reading of the game. Six out of ten

The debutant Tested against the opposition's biggest threat in their forward. Played more centrally early on then shifted out wide after a teammate entered the fray. 7/10

John Stones Moved forward with the ball at his feet, a familiar role before. Sometimes seemed hesitant when carrying play with the experiment was shelved after the break. 6/10

Dan Burn Always dangerous from dead balls, per usual, but may be another option for his teammate in defense instead of his partner. A careless ball in the second half almost led to an opener from the visitors. 6

Nico O’Reilly Another composed performance from the 20-year-old following his debut against Serbia. Saka did not capitalize on the opportunity from an exquisite backheel behind the opposing backline. The left-back spot is his to lose so soon. 7/10

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning in an England shirt. A bit careless when playing out though his inswinging corners posed a danger. An effective tempo-setter available to the manager to call upon against sides that sit back. Shown a yellow after a reckless tackle. 6

Declan Rice Set-pieces from corners and set-plays were dangerous. Enjoyed freedom to move in left midfield only to be offside upon receiving with a chance to score. Given a deserved break after an hour. 6

Jude Bellingham Played in a high position out wide and also did plenty of the hard yards. Showed glimpses of brilliance and scuffed a shot over. Substituted towards the end for Rogers, a fellow player, after receiving a caution. 7/10

The winger Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his shot excellently kept out from Thomas Strakosha. With Quansah holding position, he had to offer an outlet on the right but his crosses from the touchline were inconsistent. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

The captain The decisive figure with his 77th and 78th finishes in an England shirt. His first a typical opportunist's goal and his next an excellent finish with his head having drifted away from his marker. At 32, he continues to improve and the side stand a real opportunity in future competitions with him leading the line. 8

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to get into the game out wide. Had a good opening following a pass by the midfielder however Strakosha made the save. Rashford produced a bigger an impact in his place. Five

Replacements

  • Phil Foden (replacing Rice 63) Appeared sharp connecting well with the striker in a natural spot, 6/10
  • Saka (for Eze at the 63-minute mark) Failed to convert although his set-piece created the first goal, Six
  • Rashford (for Bowen 75) Active upon introduction and set up Kane’s second with a brilliant delivery to the far post, 7/10
  • Elliot Anderson (for Wharton 75) Looks established so soon, Six
  • Rogers (for Bellingham with minutes remaining) Insufficient minutes to make an impact, 6/10
